1.  How a Plastic Bottle is Made

There are a number of ways in which plastic can be molded, injection molding is the most common method. Plastic granules or pellets are forced into a heating hopper, which liquefies them down pushing the liquefied plastic into a press molds the plastic into a “test tube” beginning.  Blow molding is used to blow the liquefied plastic into the mold we are accustomed to seeing when we drink from that bottle.  The next time you drink from a plastic bottle, you should remember how it got its shape!

The figure on the grass you see above is called a Lichtenberg figure, which consist of branching electric discharges that sometimes appear on the surface or the interior of insulating materials. A lightning strike can also create a large Lichtenberg Figure in grass surrounding the point struck. These are sometimes found on golf courses or in grassy meadows.
