Liveaboard Couple Sails 30,000 Nautical Miles Across The Planet

After renting out their house in New Zealand, Renee and Lynette pushed off aboard their steel 27-foot sailboat Tekaihau to sail around the world. They sailed over 30,000 nautical miles, visited 16 countries and have just another 8000 miles to go. I interviewed Renee and Lynette aboard their newer and larger, 1968 Moody Halberdier 36 sailboat on the hard in Bobby’s boat yard in Dutch Sint Maarten in the Caribbean to continue their journey in February 2012… At the time of this interview they were renovating it.     They sold Tekaihau, and renamed her “Bubbly” and are now refitting her to continue on their circumnavigation back to New Zealand. We visited Renee and Lynette on sailing vessel Bubbly on the hard in Dutch Sint Maarten in February 2012. Check out their awesome story.
